Palmer Award
Dr. Peter Palmer was a 1962 graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSU SOM). He practiced as an orthopaedic surgeon and served as WSU SOM Faculty for a number of years. The Dr. and Mrs. Peter Palmer Award in Orthopaedic Surgery honors Dr. Palmer's memory and commitment to the field of orthopaedic surgery. In March of each year, two (2) scholarships are awarded to 4th year WSU SOM medical students whom are pursuing a career in Orthopaedic Surgery. Scholarship funds are use to offset medical school expenses. Past Palmer Awardees have been:
